Seems to be a little light, in my opinion.   He should have been given at least 5 years, and even that is light.

Absolutely ridiculous.  If he wasn't a white, rich athlete the sentence would have been much different, I'm willing to bet.

He deserves to be put behind bars until he can admit to what he's actually done - at the VERY least.  He keeps blaming alcohol and yet a vast majority of men manage to get drunk without raping an unconscious woman.  The judge said he doesn't pose a threat to anyone but I disagree - someone who has no remorse for their actions and relies on flimsy excuses is the most dangerous kind of person there is.

I actually don't think he had a hope in hell of learning how to treat women after reading what his father wrote, it's clear he learned some pretty awful attitude and behaviour from his parent(s).

Anyway, he should have gotten a much stricter sentence.  The message this sends is that if you're a talented white boy with a rich daddy then you can get away with whatever the f*** you want with just a slap on the wrist, AND that if you're a woman your worth and the justice that you're due is highly dependent on the MAN who assaults you.  Completely sick all around.

I think it's the definition of white privilege. He showed no remorse, kept making excuses, and he got nothing more than a slap on the wrist, because he's a white Stanford student. If he was a black guy from Compton, the judge would have sentenced him to the maximum.

I hope the judge is recalled for this stupid bit of sentencing, and that Googling Brock Turner will forever bring up articles about him being a lying rapist.

The definition of white, male privilege.

He shows no remorse, and should have had the book thrown at him - 15yrs at least. In a proper prison, none of this county jail rubbish. He's shown No remorse, at all.

This sentence punishes the victim, not the criminal. He gets a slap on the wrist with a wet bus ticket, she gets her life turned upside down, has all her life decisions analysed by the courts, and the blame placed on her by his friends and family. If it was consensual - why did he run????? (Cause it wasn't)

It's disgusting, and wrong. He should be away for as long as any other rapist would be.
