What do you think about the heath care bill being signed? Pro and con arguments welcome.

Please let me know what you think about the latest developments in the healthcare reform bill. I myself wish that it had not passed. Not to say that I am against healthcare, but I am against that healthcare. It had too many problems. For example, how can an individual afford a fine for not having healthcare if they can not afford healthcare to begin with? I also have problems with the funds for abortion being added into that bill. In my opinion it would have been revised to a somewhat decent level. Anyway, let me know what you think about the develpments and you feelings on such.

DNSiclari, first let me clarify a few points in your question.  You are incorrect on several (I say this respectfully).
    1.  There are subsidies for low income individuals to afford healthcare.  In other words, if you can't afford it, there is goverment support or possibly even free.
    2.  The reform specifically bans federal funding for abortions.  Funds for abortions were NOT added into the bill.

It is a huge piece of legistlation but here are a few of my thoughts for pros and cons
PRO - stop insurance company abuses, establish some cost controls, small business tax credits, lower deficit

CONS - possible for the bill to baloon in size if cost controls are not tightly enforced, no public option to create real cost controls against insurance companies, some special deals and monies that do not belong in there

There are a group of people out there who are powerful. If you are informed. You should know at least a "hub's" worth of them.

They rant about the health care bill coming up for its "inauguration" and boy do they have a lot to say.

Along the way , I think they have thrown up a "blackflag" which now can cause damage to an individuals rights to having affordable health care for one.

The "Health Care Reform Act" something many of us dont even understand let alone have read.

Just one thing more, IF you insurance is now $1,200.00 a month per person for example, and your currently recieving a monthly prescription or two and thats it.

AND THEN IT HAPPENS. BOOM , Your laid up in the hospital for a week . OR you need a scan posssibly.
Your Health amends your plan and activates something wherin your responsible now for the first $3,000.00 of this Hospital stay. For some , Thats a a lot of money to have to come up with when you already have Insurance you think is taking care of . Of course . Two sides to the story. Your Insurance can and will turn around to the hospital and say they are willing to pay 15% of the bill claiming that it what the procedure costs.

    ON and on.

Just a few random thoughts. Thanks for reading this.
