Do you have the same opinion about domestic gun control as you do about international nuke control?
Do you think the government should keep citizens from obtaining guns? Should the government allow all citizens to obtain guns? Should the government have regulations to restrict private gun ownership?
Do you think world governments should keep countries/individuals/groups from obtaining nukes? Shoudl world governments allow all countries/individuals/groups to obtain nukes? Should world governments have regulations to restrict nuke ownership?
Just wondering if anybody feels differently about each scenario.
My only reply is that the philosophies should be equal. Either we support the ability to arm yourself equally with your potential aggressor or we don't.
I have a sneaky suspicion that some people who think Iran should be allowed to develop nukes, would also say citizens shouldn't be allowed to have firearms.
And vice versa.
I dunno, it's making me think a bit more about who should be 'allowed' to develop nuclear weapons.
