Yep, Voltaire said this over 200years ago and it's truer today than ever: "To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise".
In the West, we are increasingly free to criticise, even pillory, anyone who has a religion, anyone who is heterosexual, anyone who has children, anyone who wants to protect their children from harmful influences and so on. So who really rules over us?
