Are you “for” or “Against” the Obama Phone?
The Obama Phone is a Free phone given to people on welfare. (safelink wireless). I don’t understand why some people are not happy that Obama is giving it away – approx 1 hour airtime a month. Life is full of uncertainties and anyone can find themselves unemployed at any moment. Why begrudge them?
Is it such a bad idea?
Actually, the phone is not Obama's give away. The cell phones are paid for by TracFone and the service is funded by the telecommunications companies.
I'm no fan of Obama's, but he did not start the program. The underlying program to help low income families with phone service was created a long time before Obama came along. This info is on SafeLink's website.
I did a hub on the SafeLink free cell phone program.
