I'm soooo sick and tired of you liberals going on about Bush and the Patriot Act and giving Obama a pass! This president is a hypocrite pure and simple! He hates freedom and anyone that opposes his will!

Shouldn't be surprised. The war in Afghanistan is like a holy crusade to them now.

        Oh.....GOOD one.

There is no answer for that, but the obvious.

          I'll say it for everyone:

George W. Bush was evil incarnate. I can't say that Obama is much better (in fact, I'd argue Obama's worse), Bush was still horrible. Evil. Disgusting. Filthy.

          HOWEVER

If you hated him because of Gitmo, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Patriot Act, wiretapping, and the countless other horrors he undertook...

... then you MUST hate Obama for not ending these atrocities.

If you fail this, then you are a hypocrite.

          'nuff said.

Clinton was elected as a liberal. He wasn't as right wing as the Gingrich congress but put through right wing policies that the republicans could not,
like free-trade which which began the death of American manufacturing, media
consolidation and deregulation the markets, which has led to the recent Wall Street heist. Obama was elected as liberal and the proceeding is the same. He will push through right wing objectives that the republican party and Bush gang could maybe not. There is an entity beyond right and left.

Not only that, but the Righty's should be singing Obama's praises! But they are bashing him as always. When Bush did it, they cheered.

I can assure you I fought hard against the Patriot Act when it was first proposed. In fact I wrote then senator Obama about it and his response indicating he would support the measure cemented my decision to vote against him...

Errrr, and the Ruling party....and the president...did you write to them?

Article 1 Section 1 of the US Constitution:

"All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives."

lady_love contacted the correct governmental body.

PS: quit deflecting the issue at hand. You can't be mad at Lady for being against Obama's demand to extend the act, but also be mad at her for trying to get it not passed in the first place.

Stick to your guns, lovemychris. Either you're against the patriot act, or you aren't. Which is it?

Well--she only mentioned Obama. Republicans were the majority party back then.

            Why not write to them?
And I half don't  believe it anyway....she hates him so much I doubt she would write him. She's Repub...why write to a democrat...and a minority party at that?

And I'm against the Patriot Act. I just have to hope that the Obama administration uses it wisely. I certainly trust them more. I don't feel the cold, hard horror of Bushco.

well, for starters, if she wrote to Obama, it would be likely that she lived in Illinois at the time...

... and the only other senator for her state was a Democrat....

... and depending on the district she lived in, she might've had a Democratic House member representing her.

So, she likely contacted the right people!

That's because it was in the hands of a patriot then.  Unlike now.  Obama's camp, rallied by Pelosi, remember, successfully labeled honest patriotic citizens as haters and possible terrorists, instead of going after the real terrorists.

        No--you mean right-wing terror squads?
Oh, those are terrorists...Home Grown. In the likes of KKK and Operation Rescue.
