Prescott Bush served from 1917-1918 in WW1 as an Artillery Captain. While he was a competent officer he was not awarded any "bravery"medals during his service.
When the US entered WW2 Prescott Bush did not serve because he would have been nearly 50 years old in 1941..
Prescott Bush was not awarded the Legion of Honor, The VC or the DSC. With the exception of his brief military service in WWI Prescott Bush was not a soldier and did not have a military career. He was a business man and a politician.
He did write a letter to his family, during WW1, claiming to have won "bravery" medals during combat. This letter was published, at the time, and ultimately embarrassed him and his family. Prescott Bush claimed the letter was a private joke between him and his family that was never suppose to be published.
