Do you believe we are killing this planet?
I received a comment to one of my hubs that suggests that by 2050 we will have doubled the amount of CO2 we pump into the atmosphere and from there, the effects will likely be irreversible. Do you believe we should be doing more to combat the pouring of GHG's into the atmosphere and our oceans?
Yes, we are killing this planet. Some people are consciously destroying this planet, others unintentionally do by either being uninformed or choosing to ignore information. I think technology in general has reached a point where it's progressing much faster than human beings can effectively handle without extensive study and research. It's probably why apocalyptic movies are so popular...I think we should be doing what we can to preserve what's left of our planet.
We are treating this planet like an unlimited resource and trash compactor deluxe. Resources are not unlimited and we can not continue to dump our trash where will live. If we continue without planning and changing how we live, we will reach a tipping point where the planet will not support the population.
I believe that everything has a beginning, middle and end so regardless of what we do, the world will end someday. Scientists have predicted that our own sun will implode and wipe out most of our solar system.
On the other side of the coin, we evolve. It's natural to use what resources we have to make sure we're here tomorrow, so somebody will figure out how to control the amount of pollution that we produce to make the world healthier.

Almost everyone is already alarmed by the impacts of climate change.
