Should Wikileaks be punished for their actions
How do you believe our government should react?
No, I don't. I think this sort of information should be public domain anyway, as we support it with our taxes. Government should be open to the public, it's not above it. But that's me.
What if somebody gets hurt because some sensitive information was read by somebody who wasn't suppose to know it?
Freedom should always be tempered with responsibility.
Yes, He is knowingly taking stolen materials and then publishing them. There is always company information that needs to be a trade secret. So the Government will not be any different.
As I understand it, Wikileaks spend quite a lot of time considering the potential damage leaking each data set may do and ONLY leak the information if they feel will not put lives in danger. Therefore I see no reason to punish them for as long as this holds true.
