Do you think democracy in the USA really exists?
The United States has never been a democracy, it's always been a republic. Currently the United States is moving towards fascism.
We are not strictly a democracy, and were not designed to be. We are instead, a republic, with democratic methods of choosing our leaders. A republic is formed and governed by a system of laws, not the vote of, direct will of, or by referendum of, the people. It is designed to maximize freedom, not empower t he majority to impose its will on the minority, on matters of rights or freedom.
