    Do Europe and USA use tear gas canisters and rubber bullets against their people?"

    A lot of people have followed what is going on in the Arab world and peoples' revolts against tyranny. All tyrant governments have purchased tear gas canisters and rubber bullets from EU and USA. Now the question is "Do Europe and USA use teargas canisters and rubber bullets against their people?"

    When the Northern Ireland troubles were at their peak in the 1970's & 1980's it was common knowledge that British troops used rubber bullets to disperse rioting people or large gatherings, not sure if they ever used gas canisters.

    Northern Ireland is a province within Great Britain but republican organizations such as the IRA objected to the province being governed by the British government & wanted to be part of the Republic of Ireland.

    I think the USA has moved away from rubber bullets, and replaced them with Bean bags. I think they have more knockdown power with less damage to the target. The main idea is to put down a riot without seriously hurting anyone. Those methods are used as a last resort. They are not used at all in peaceful demonstrations.
