Obama releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve: is everybody happy yet?
Or is it a a brazen political act to convince people he's doing something about gas prices?
It is clearly a brazen political act....period.
The 30 million barrels only accounts for less than two days’ worth of domestic oil consumption and about three days of oil imports....that is supposed to be there for the event of a National emergency.
We need to open up all of our oil wells on U.S. soil and coastline...THAT will result in REAL oil cost reduction AND it would create some very badly needed jobs.
Sadly, no one will ever be happy in this debate; so long as we want to lag behind other developed nations in fossil fuel use and drive SUVs. I feel that Obama is doing a lot of heavy talking and smoke blowing lest the voters start asking if he has actually done anything that he promised.

Investment banks leverage up casino-like. When they fail, they put in jeopardy the commercial banks and you, Joe taxpayer, have to come to their rescue. Obama wants to stop that by implementing the Volcker Plan. Some say it doesn't go far enough, but at least it is an attempt to keep insured...
