Should Charles Manson have been put to death when he was sentenced?
If the death penalty had been allowed in California when Charles Manson orchestrated 9 deaths, do you think he should have been put to death?
Susan.......Really? I just wrote a hub on good ole Charley!! Didn't we do this once before? I mean, write something similar at the same time?
......On to your question. Manson and his convicted Family members were given the death penalty. Every one of them. At some point during their incarceration, California abolished Capital Punishment, which is when their sentences became LIFE, instead. Had that not been the case, they'd all be long gone by now....
As it is, the parole board has denied each of them at least 12 times.... Charley goes before the board for the 12th time next week. Waste of time, but it's just procedural. No chance in Hell any one of them will ever see the outside world. Most especially the main cuckoo bird himself. He'll be 78 soon and will most definitely take his last breath inside his cage.
Even Susan Atkins was denied parole when she requested a Mercy decision, based on her terminal brain cancer. I think that pretty much says it all, don't you?
Not a one of these freaks will ever get a get-out-of-jail-card. Susan was the drug-crazed lunatic who cut Sharon Tate's baby from her lifeless body.
I hope you get a chance to visit my site. I've a couple of new hubs....
Wishing you and your beautiful family a wonderful Easter........
Yes I believe he should have been sentenced to death with all of them,,I am so glad to read the comment on fpherj48 ,, what a great answer..
He is pure Evil..
Happy Easter to you
Debbie
just a fyi: the death penalty -was- allowed at the time.
Manson (& others) was originally sentenced to death, but the death penalty was temporarily kicked off the books in CA in 1972 before the executions could take place.
Personally, I don't believe in the death penalty-- but in some situations it's difficult to have an objective viewpoint.
They all received the Death penalty, Then it was overturned. I say letting them spend the rest of their lives in prison knowing they will never get out is more punishment than "The easy way out". Let them suffer and think about what they did to those innocent people for the rest of their lives.

Can anyone tell me how an all knowing, loving God would create a place called hell to cast most of His creation?
