Is it fair to admit Charles Manson to an out of prison hospital under "John Doe?"

According to the LA Times, Charles Manson was admitted to a hospital outside of prison in Bakersfield under the name John Doe earlier today.  Other sources have suggested its a gastrointestinal problem.  Clearly the name obfuscation did nothing to keep the incident out of the press.  Is it fair to withhold his name from the medical personnel working on him?  What information should be given to them and what should be withheld?

I don't think any hospital should need to know his name. It is our court's job to "punish" people and the hospital's job to treat people, even if they are crappy people. Chances are he isn't too hard to recognize anyway. So yes, it is fair, because their job has nothing to do with who the person they are treating is. They need his medical records, that is all.
