All substances classified as "drugs" have medicinal uses, that's what makes them drugs. Cocaine (used in plastic surgery), heroin (painkiller) and ecstasy (psychotherapy) all were developed for medical use, but were replaced by other chemicals.
"Street drugs" are substances which do not have medicinal uses but are things which people abuse/use because they induce some sort of high.
