Do you think there will be changes to the second amendment if Obama is re-elected?
There isn't much he could do. Fast and Furious appears to have been an administration attempt to whip up public support for more restrictive federal gun controls, but that not only was botched, it probably was itself criminal. Holder will be lucky to avoid prison time over it. Obama has now tied himself to it with his claim of executive privilege. In any event that was Obama's shot at this issue, and it didn't work out. He won't dare touch it again even if he is reelected.
Changing the 2nd Amendment moreover would require that congress adopt a proposed constitutional amendment doing that, and then that a supermajority of the States ratify it. Neither is going to happen regardless of who occupies the white house.
There's 20 million hunters, security officers, target shooters, law enforcement officers, armed forces, just way too many votes he wants to keep for his party and himself. He wouldn't even try again.
Unfortunately for Obama and his gun control buddies it's not that easy to change the Constitution. There aren't that many rights enumerated but gun ownership is one of them, and he'd have a heck of a fight trying to take that away from us. Plus a lot of Democrats actually do hunt or work in law enforcement or the military. Those aren't folks who would willingly give up their guns. And the Supreme Court has made it pretty clear that local gun bans are not even constitutional.

And what makes some believe that they can take down most well-funded and -armed military in the world with shotguns and assault rifles?

Why is the Second Amendment important to you?I find it amazing that the right to bear arms is important to so many Americans. With all of the political and social issues that we need to address in our country today, why does the right to bear arms receive more attention than all of the other...

Sorry about the paraphrase, but was space limited (hubpages should take note). What James Madison actually wrote was: "In framing a system which we wish to last for ages, we should not lose sight of the changes which ages will produce." (referring to the Constitution)The question is...
