How tolerant are you towards the moral erosion around us? What are you doing to control or stop it?

On what basis do you surmise there is a moral decay, is it the falling crime rates? The lowering rate of violence?

Ther's a general decline in morality, manners, respect, caring, and so on in our society. We see increasing crime, corruption, cheating, hatred, etc.

The crime rate is falling, racism, sexism and homophobia are decreasing... I don't see that this moral decay exists at all. Charity was rising steadily till the recession but other than that.

    I agree with Josak.

I think why we feel there is moral erosion going on is because how connected we all are these days. All the bad things haven't increased, but our awareness of it has. These days, if anything major happens we can be told of it within even seconds. People tweet from the site, people pick it up, the story gets spread. And we have stories like this coming from all sides.

It can be rather overwhelming, but at the same time I think it's good. Because we are now more aware, we can do more to tackle it. Think of the recent terrible event that happened to the bus monitor, Karen Klein. Those kids were absolutely awful. A few years ago, the story probably would have ended there. But people found out about it, were moved by it and ended up donating a fantastic amount to Karen.

One of my main gripes with the media is that all we hear is the bad stuff. If we can be so aware of that all the time, why not also tell us about the good stuff? (I know, I know, bad stories sell better). But at least we don't have to rely *solely* on the media now; we are connected enough to find things out ourselves.

I'm afraid I am very intolerant.  I express my feelings in my hubs and my comments and hope that I am planting seeds that will grow into something good in time.
