Have you ever felt that you were voting between the "lesser of the evils?"
Obama, the guy who said he'd close down the Cuban US Torture chamber, then went on to approve 40 billion in renovations for the same place, also appointed Michael Taylor over the FDA....which is about like putting Jerry Sandusky over the well being of US children.
The two party paradigm is only valid in the small minds that consume television media.
Every election I hear people using the "lesser of the evils" as an excuse not to vote & then they complain. They don't vote, volunteer, or organize themselves for any change. At least you know who you WON'T be voting for in the upcoming election.
Even if a few voting machines are rigged by programming, we need to rise above apathy. Vote for the real good guys. I'm behind Ron Paul, because he consistently supports the Constitution.
Most Americans have felt that way since the 1840s. I don't vote because it does not matter who is president between the two candidates.
A lot of people feel this way. Do you think that either of these two is any worse for our country than the other?
Apathy and inaction is not the way to go.
Ron Paul could make a difference, but he'd need a lot of help in Congress. That's why so many liberty candidates are winning seats in Congress. Don't give up on America. May God protect us all.
I can't have a serious discussion about this without getting into constitutional theory, but I can say a few things. Yes, Ron Paul would be good--they'll never let him win. The Dems are slightly better than the GOP, but worse in some ways.
If that question was "EVER" so true, It most certainly is in this election. Obama keeps dragging the Country down and Romney and now his running mate's fix on the budget is completely ludicrous.
Ryan's policy is extreme in my opinion. Also, I doubt that I'd want him to lead if anything happened to Romney. I wish more people would INFORM themselves so we don't have these types of choices to begin with.
I couldn't agree more JThomp. Exactly my thoughts!
On every key issue, Romney = Obama. More war, fiscal insanity and greater erosions to our liberties.
Wouldn't it be great to have an upset at the RNC? What the GOP establishment is terrified of is Ron Paul having a chance at being nominated.
I've been voting for the lesser of two evils since Reagan, particularly the present "occupant" of the Oval Office. I wasn't happy with McCain either but I would have voted for my EX before voting for Obama.
When pols can't run on their records or their promises, they turn campaigns into that question. The pros are good at doing it, and it's being done to us now, in this presidential race. It's one of the reasons politicians have such a bad reputation. The one who does it smears not only his opponent but himself, and it sticks.
Well Attikos, there's a few truckloads of manure in office
And we need to help wean our fellow citizens of the Corporate Party media kool-aid -- exchange TV for YouTube. There are some good guys out there. We just need to connect them together in a new movement.
Lesser evil is, of course, still evil. Who would you vote for: Hitler or Stalin?
In retrospect, I have done this. I supported Obama. I believed the rhetoric and quickly found it empty once he was in office.
Those who depend on the Corporate Party media kool-aid will continue to be led by the nose to the slaughter. The super elite (Rockefellers and their ilk) know how the game is played. They knew they needed a goofy, inept president in GW Bush when 9/11 happened so no one would suspect the government of perpetrating anything that sophisticated. "Well, shucks y'all, I can't even talk straight."
The real good guys are ignored by the media, for the most part. Ron Paul still has a slim chance of making it. Heck, he could even pull an upset at the RNC. Boy would that be embarrassing to the "good old boys" in the GOP establishment. After all their cheating and fraud during the primaries (you gotta see some of the Ben Swann "Reality Check" videos on YouTube), the GOP leadership will likely mess their pants over a Ron Paul win.
Will liberty have a chance at the White House? Will we be able to legalize the Constitution again and make the Oath of Office something presidents actually keep? That would be nice.
Yes, in the UK we have 3 major parties
Liberals. A hotch-potch of right and left with no idea where they are going, they think they can please everyone.
Tories. A party with no social conscience
Labour. A party with a social conscience, but fails to use it.
I have voted Labour all my adult life as the lesser of the political evils.
