    What would happen if "none of the above" actually won an election?

    In an election where there are at least 2 viable candidates but we as a people think they won't serve us well and vote "none of the above", what happens when the majority of the votes are "none of the above"?

    I believe you can receive less than 50% of the popular vote and win through the electoral college.

      That's for the presidential election, what about local elections?  I have some that I cannot bring myself to vote for either candidate.  I just wonder what would happen if everyone felt that way & voted as such.

      I have abstained at time because I didn't like either candidate.  But that leaves me feeling empty.  I think the best thing is to get involved, become part of the process.  But if no one voted, and no one got elected, I dunno.
