What purpose was the first gun made?
I am not talking about rifles to kill for diner or meat, but the ones that were made to kill people. Were they made to kill people at all in the first place?
A well argued question. One thing is for sure, guns were invented to penetrate armor. The thing speaks for itself. Note: I am not political and do not wish to debate politics. I am just stating the only clear fact on the matter.
Guns were invented in Asia as a weapon against Mongols. They were created to combat the superior archery power of the Mongols who could pick off raiders and beseigers from great distances and hid behind the stone walls of what has now become the "Forbidden City" in China. The first guns were more like hand cannons that didn't have great aim, just a lot of boom and a little ball that the user hoped hit something.
Yes, guns were initially created as weapons. Yes, the purpose of a gun is to kill (whether it be another person or to be used for hunting)
The Ming Dynasty first used them as weapons of war. They had no other purpose prior to that.
The purpose was to kill the enemy. During the dark ages and even the recent wars, like World War II, there are always specialists trying to innovating in ways to be superior to the enemy.
The first idea of a gun probably appeared as a way to kill by distance but lowering the costs, just like catapults and archery. Before guns many wars were fought using Infantry with swords(or other weapons) and cavalry.

In my opinion on guns is that guns don't kill people people using the gun for the wrong reasons that's what kills people because if you think about it when You put the gun on a table its not going to fire but when you pick the gun up off the table and pull the trigger it will fire What do you think
