Should guns be used by employees of the school, as a viable plan to protect school child?

Montpelier, Ohio may be one of the first school districts to approve the plan for the custodial staff to carry guns, but it is not the only school in the country considering such practice. Would you consider this plan a wise plan if it were your children's school? Are the janitors the best individuals to carry guns? Should those janitors be compensated for their willingness to 'protect' the school children? What are your thoughts?

As long as they keep them away from the children and do not employ psychos, and only bring them out when necessary.....fine by me!

Conceal carry carries a lot of responsibilities when it comes to using firearms. Civilians who carry are responsible for every round they fire. In a way, they carry more responsibilities and liabilities more than cops. If the person is trained in the following it's ok in addition to meeting legal and mental requirements.
Some things they better be well versed in:
    1. Tactical shooting, and maintaining the firearm.
    2. How to carry and draw from open and conceal positions.
    3. Knowing laws regarding deadly use of force.
    4. Know how to retain the firearm.

Janitors should not be singled out or assigned as the carriers of concealed weapons. Carrying a weapon should never be a requirement of any school employees position, since that would simply make them an armed agent of the State. Concealed carry should be a viable option for ANY employee who meets the same requirements that any other citizen of a state must meet. An employee should carry the weapon as a private individual rather than the State's agent. It is less burdensome for the employee, and more seamless in regard to the learning environment when it is entirely voluntary.
Beyond this one thing is certain. Gun free school zones are more dangerous than safe. The federal ban should be lifted!
