   How many of you would be prepared to give 10% of your savings to get your government  out of its financial mess?

   I already give the government too much of my money. I just filed my tax return a couple days ago, although I'm not sending the IRS what I owe just yet.
   
   Many government entities waste an incredible amount of money. They need to get their act together before I would ever consider voluntarily forking over more dough. And then you have those in government who are corrupt and are robbing us blind.

      Here in the UK it has been calculated that a normal low income earner who drives a car, smokes and has a little drink occasionally pays 52% of their earnings in tax...surely that's enough?

   Is the government going to stop overspending? I generally pay about $30K in taxes every year and I'm pretty sure the majority of whatever does not go toward social security just goes toward replacing a few nuts and bolts on an aircraft carrier. It's not worth it to me.
   
   If the American people are expected to "pony up" and bail out the government, then the entire US House of Representatives should be impeached for its failure to manage the public purse. While we're at it, we might as well put half of them on trial for treason for "Gerrymandering" their respective districts in order to stay in power. I wish we could abolish the lower house and replace it with a national referendum. The Senate can stay.

   Not me. I see so much waste in the US government. I have worked very hard to get what little we have set aside.  When the government starts controlling their waste, and taking care of the fraud in medicare and medicaid, cut the salaries of politicians, then I might reconsider. But giving my little bit would be like pouring a glass of water on a burning barn.
