The media should report the news, not spin it, so they should have been neither kind nor unkind. I know, I know, if pigs had wings ...
I thought the US media was very even handed in their reporting after her death. They listed her accomplishments, which were many, but also pointed out her demonstrated lack of empathy for the less fortunate in her country. (A common failing among the conservative wing in every country, it seems.)
The media is not always kind, especially to those who strive to make change. She helped many people and made positive influences because of her position. Leaders will always be brought down because we try to point out the worst in people.
