Also on April 15, 2013 in Ohio, It was reported that the first steerable Balloon Osseoplasty in the world had been successful in Lima Memorial Hospital by Dr. G. Brooks Brennan. In the case of a compression fracture in the spine of a woman with osteoporosis, a small balloon was injected into the site, inflated, and bone cement added to form a cavity under the compression to stop the pain.
