    What would you do if you won a substantial amount of money in any way, lottery or other?

    I know I would pay my student loans back first and then maybe pay my car off and buy my parents a house if I ever came into a substantial amount of money. I wouldn't have much left after paying student loans, though wink

    I would finish redecorating my home, give some to family members and give some to my favourite charity.

    First I would talk to a financial adviser and pay off the mortgage. Then give some to friends to make their life easier, then retire.  In retirement I would volunteer more and only work part-time and forget about the rat race.  My favorite charities would see a nice donation as well.

    I would pay off debt, put a chunk in savings, then go on vacation. If there was any leftover after that, I would use it to advertise my books.
