Will the Attorney General open a criminal investigation on the classified emails...?

The inspectors general for the State Department and intelligence community recently disclosed that an internal review of Clinton's system concluded some emails contained classified information. Attorney General, Loretta Lynch and her department must now determine what to do next. (ABC News) Given her close association as the presidents friend-in-chief (60 Minutes words,, not mine) will she stop the investigation, or will she somehow sweep this matter under the rug and risk the backlash?

No.  I believe Obummer will delay such an investigation by holding Lynch back.  If Clinton wins the election, she can then do away entirely with the investigation.  In an immoral country, no one can hear you scream "Clinton's a crook".

Not only is she a crook, she's a smug, haughty crook. Well, Lynch will still have to take the heat...

She will do exactly what Obama tells her to do.  It is amazing that Clinton is even being allowed to run for President while a subject of this investigation.  And this is an investigation by the FBI, not whatever it was that Hillary called it.

Others have been severely punished for far lesser crimes.

This has got to put the Dem's in a tough position.  Their best candidate could be in jailhouse orange by the time the election gets here.

Most likely Old Poolman. Whatever Obama says goes, even if it makes Lynch's life miserable. That's the price of being  "1st friend." But even on the chance H is indicted, Obama would pardon her, but... an indictment is still something.

All who are hoping for Hilary to end up in prison will be disappointed.  Nothing is going to happen to her.  This time next year, she may be president.

Lolita....She may even be an impeached president, not that that would bother her. But it would be rather ironic.....following in her husbands footsteps and all that.

It is already being investigated, no matter what she does.
And it is a series of already known blatant violations of law (circumventing IT security laws is a violation, putting classified information on unclassified systems is a violation PER message, ordering others to transfer classified to unclassified is a violation per person)
Then there is the corruption of giving that information to various groups in return for Clinton Foundation donations, which we already know has happened, on top of her approving things at the State Department after receiving Clinton Foundation donations.
So there are dozens of charges that can and should be filed against her and the FBI investigators are planning on filing them.
The only question is - will Loretta Lynch or her successor if she resigns for violating a ton of ethics rules meeting with Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac while Hillary is being grilled by the FBI indict her?
