    On yesterday morning my mom pressed her med alert buttton, the police responded.

    My husband answered the door and the police said there was a call placed from my house, my husband told them that it had to have been his mother in law, let him check. The police entered my home and when my husband came from her room he said yes it was my mom but she was fine.  Needless to say they asked if my 19 son who's home from college on thanksgiving break and was asleep in his bed was home? My husband said yes and they said well he has to come with us, we have a warrant for his arrest, for failure to appear. I live in the state of Ohio, Is that legal?

    Yes, it's legal. If there's a warrant for his arrest, the police have a right to execute that warrant. Even if the phone call hadn't called them to your home, they would still have the right to enter if they believed your son was at home.
