Death is nothing to be afraid of, it is not the shedding of the body in preparation for another but the state of consciousness most of us are mentally in, "unable to comprehend all things" because of the belief in good and evil. (see https://hubpages.com/religion-philosoph … d-and-Evil)
The main reason for man's being afraid of discarnating, what I believe you are calling death, is religions' teachings heaven and hell and Christianity's hell being "a lake of fire" where the beings are eternally burning. That lake of fire is a metaphor of this material civilization where man-en-mass has the unquenchable desire for money and other stuff we have made. With that realization, there is no reason to be afraid of discarnating you called death.
Christianity doesn't make you afraid of death. I find that the belief in no afterlife tends to make people afraid of death.
Also, the process of death isn't generally pleasant.
crowsnest is correct. The question of Christianity making people afraid of death is highlighted by people who do not understand what true Christianity is. Jesus was clear, He came that we might have abundant life (John10:10).
Wow that was Awesome. Thank you for your response
CN & RT, Christianity's teaching of hell is a lake of fire where every unsaved person go is why many in Christian nations are afraid of it. The Bible shows reincarnation until one has become whole or holy making teachings it be to control the mas
No, It's the (dying process) that can be torture.
Death itself is the completion of the spirit/life force transitioning from the body.
Early on we learn life on earth is temporary. Accepting it as fact should ease fear.

The born again movement has grown considerably in recent years and there seems to be a radicalism to the movement. Some of them even declare that the middle east conflict is a holy war. This attitude seems to be in great conflict with the basic teachings preached to us in the past.

What did you think about when you thought you were going to die?I'm sure there are many of us who have felt sure we were at the end of our lives for some reason or another. I'm not concerned with why you felt this way, just what you were thinking.
