I only watch local news. I do appreciate what is broadcast since it is only news. There are no editorials. Commentary or opinions are almost nil and most usually about weather and sports.
My city is somewhat large and out local news spins off of the national stuff. They are all affiliate stations. What about stuff like how a "recent national survey shows more kids are..."? Hogwash?
I think here in San Diego with the CBS affiliate station the only spin is if they show it or not and what outtake is shown. So, maybe it is bias. As far as survey or studies goes that is always subjective. Some people just don't believe any.
I agree. Like you said weather and sports is pretty safe to believe.
