It's long past time the GOP learned to use the dirty tricks that immoral democrats use constantly in politics , as one rep. said " If Dems on this panel want to play dirty , wait until their next SCOTUS nominating pick ?
There has to be a way of removing the ideologies from SCOTUS picks and confirmations in general , maybe the process should be rescinded from senate panels and put into a neutral panel of perhaps federal judges themselves?
If the Senate doesn't find a way to depoliticize this, the process is ruined. My guess is that they can't do this any other way. The country is FAR too divided, as we see from the other two branches of government.
I do think that our government is in trouble, and our country with it.
Might point out that Republicans started it and were the first to successfully delay a vote. Democrats have a new, dirtier weapon in the fight, that's all.
It does seem odd that after all the screaming over Republican tactics, that it wasn't "right" and should never be done, they are now using the same disgusting tactics. None of them up there on the hill have a shred of ethical standards.
How far back in history are you going? When did the Republicans first delay a vote?
2016. Delayed for 293 days until the next presidential election. That's in the neighborhood of 4 times the normal time it takes to confirm someone, and when the vote was never made it took even more time to nominate and confirm a different candidate.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merrick_G … nomination
This all goes back to democrats not maintaining a political memory one , and their love affair with hypocrisy in political strategizing . Yes , I agree , something has to change with these nomination /confirmation process.

Since they walked out, their actions should have consequences. They should amend their process so that a quorum can be formed from present legislators and let the vote go through. I'm fed up with this crap and am surprised that the Wisconsin citizens allow it. The state senators...

In what is a blatant dirty-trick, the aged Senator Diane Finestien shows just how far the left will go to keep a highly qualified Judge from reaching the Supreme Court. Over the weekend, a letter (one that she has been holding for months) talking about vague and highly suspect charges against the...

I don't get Democrats. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez presented legislation to be considered by the US Senate. It was called the Green New Deal. Many Democrats came out in support of this legislation in the press. The leader of the Senate put it up for a vote. Democrats are...
