While Americans pine for 'Medicare for all,' Canadians look for US-style private insurance
I've heard more than one Canadian complain about their health system. Most tell me how they come to the United States for treatment and the Canadian government then pays the US hospital for their treatment. Interesting how many Americans don't realize what the Canadian health system is like.
“That majority would be wise to take a look across our northern border. Waits for care in Canada's government-run health insurance system, the closest analog to "Medicare for all" in the world, are spiraling. The remedy for those waits, according to a new report from the Vancouver-based Fraser Institute? A dose of U.S.-style private insurance.”

I think there are other things not being said about medicare for all. First, we pay for medicare. It is not free and it does not pay for everything. You also need a supplemental insurance to help pay for 20% of your healthcare expenses and to pay some part of any medications.

I'm not afraid of it. But I'm not in favor of it. The government screws up a lot. You can't always trust them when it comes to money. I would like the government to stay out of it as much as possible.

Do you believe that the nuisance known as Obamacare will finally be repealed? Why? Why not?I believe that the government SHOULD NOT be in private affairs such as health care. I believe that health care is the sole responsibility of the individual. If individuals want health care,...

Shouldn't there have been healthcare reform before Obamacare is implemented?Healthcare reform would mean looking into a countless number of things wrong with the system.Yet now we are getting a new insurance that there are so many concerns about. It's like rebuilding an engine without taking it...

I simply do not understand why people are fighting health care reform. I have heard the arguments against it and I keep saying how is that worse than being held hostage by the insurance companies? My insurance cost keeps going and in turn I get less and less coverage. They say the govt run...
