Whitewashing of American Racism is one of the main goals of the former conservative Southern Democrats now known as the Republican Party or RINOs.

I don't think the problem rests with American's whitewashing racism or admitting it is a serious problem.  However, I think it is being used as a political cudgel by Democrats and the media. I might add without regard for what it is actually doing to make the problem worse. No solutions just turning the screws. with rhetoric that is dished up to inflame the situation.

My common sense tells me the Dems are doing a great job at what they set out to do. A lot of hate spreading at this point.

Until the dems want to give everyone an equal playing field regardless of skin color I'm going to assume that they are the ones most guilty of racism, creating more racism, and fueling racial tensions in America. This was no better evidenced in the modern era than when we saw violent racial clashes between people during the BLM-inspired protests and riots, some of us (myself) being on the ground to witness these events, and the media only pushing one half-baked, racist narrative.

Come to the table as equals, where I find most Republicans get bashed by self-proclaimed anti-racists over their skin color (usually white, but sometimes even black, or other), and you'll find Republicans are quite understanding. If we can't meet in the middle because of our skin color, or gender, or religious beliefs, then it is the ideologues who are to blame. You can't have your cake and eat it too, but we can all share a bland cake of cold objectivity; something tells me everyone likes a variety to their flavors, though, and this is why no one, especially the ones veiling their racism, truly wants these issues to end favorably for all sides.

"Us versus them," is all I get, in every facet of life, from my more progressive peers. My more conservative peers seem to be in a fetal position, defensive, against the mob justice the left favors. Then again, I'm a moderate who leans right so all I can do is observe and interfere when it counts. I can't tell you the amount of hate crimes I've witnessed in the last year and a half, and it is only getting worse.

Indeed, "Racial injustice is alive and well."
