    Just for kicks, this one is ripe for both sides.

    Hearing Right-leaning media (aka Fox News) push a segment about data showing folks are leaving New York City to go to Florida—in big numbers(???), prompted a thought. A New York Post article was their focus.

    From a brief look-about, it does appear that NYC is losing more citizens than it is gaining. Is it Rand's prophesy in real-world circumstances? For added flavor, also consider the spat of recent railroad accidents and failures and their similarity to the story. Hmmm . . .

      Ayn Rand was an author who was ahead of her time.

        I like her writing, but her 'story' is just a popular version of an older story about Democratic societies. An imbalance in the producer/consumer relationship. aka moochers vs. producers.

      Interesting OP!! I will think about it with some research later and come back. Rand is not someone I am familiar with other than her name. But, as far as trains go take a peek at the video below. All you need to watch is the first two minutes of eighteen. Talk about infrastructure

      I am going to review the article next linked about migration from states. There is a table of all states for migration to and away from a state.

      Where People Moved in 2022 by National Association of Realtors
      https://www.nar.realtor/blogs/economist … ed-in-2022

      From the first paragraph comes;
      "Although the population continues to increase, fewer Americans decided to move in 2022. After a historically low moving rate in 2021, data indicates that even fewer Americans moved across the country last year (2022). But this is not a new trend. Millions of people moved during the pandemic, driven by the opportunity to work remotely, the desire for more space, and better affordability. Nevertheless, the moving rate has declined for the last six years."

        Nah, you don't need more research. This one's just a red meat feast. Confirmation bias for one side and statistical interpretation support for the other.

      What sane, capable, rational person would want to support the insane, irrational policies, taxes and politics of a State like NY, or for that matter CA?

      Both of those states are the jewels of the Progressive Democrats, both of those states are seeing a mass exodus of "Middle Class" as well as "Best and Brightest" companies and individuals.

      Both are becoming States of the Elites and the abject poor, with a dwindling pool of people that fall into anything other than those two categories.

      More New Yorkers moved to Florida in 2022 than any year in history in staggering exodus
