"WASHINGTON (AP) - President Joe Biden signed an executive order on Tuesday that contains more than 50 directives to increase access to child care and improve the work life of caregivers.
But the directives would be funded out of existing commitments, likely meaning their impact would carry more of a symbolic weight compared with the Democratic president was far more ambitious in 2021 by calling to provide more than $425 billion to expand child care, improve its affordability and boost wages for caregivers.
"The executive order doesn’t require any new spending," Biden said in remarks at the White House. "It’s about making sure taxpayers get the best value for the investments they’ve already made." (What in the world does that mean?)
Biden also has called for more money for the care economy in his 2024 budget plan, drawing a sharp line with Republicans, who are seeking limits on spending."

Does Biden ever stop pandering and making promises he can't keep? Or maybe he should have been more concerned with the childcare Americans are having before he allocated all that cash to his Green agenda.
Please view the White House statement on what Joe intends to do --- It seems Biden really has no more cash in his piggy bank to pay for all his lofty promises and is asking for tons of funds to be added to the upcoming budget...
"The FY 2024 President’s Budget builds on these investments and proposes investing $600 billion over 10 years to expand access to high-quality, affordable child care and free, high-quality preschool. This funding will enable States to increase childcare options for more than 16 million young children. The proposal lowers costs so that parents can afford to send their children to high-quality child care while also paying child care providers wages that reflect the value they provide families and communities.
The President’s Budget also includes $150 billion over the next decade to improve and expand Medicaid home care services—making it easier for seniors and people with disabilities to live, work, and participate in their communities. This funding would improve the quality of jobs for home care workers and support family caregivers. The Administration is also promoting the use of apprenticeship programs and partnering with employers, unions, and others to recruit, train, and keep long-term care workers on the job while also helping them advance their careers as registered and licensed nurses. Just this month, the President also signed the first-ever proclamation designating April as National Care Worker Recognition Month, to honor the efforts and sacrifices of our child care and long-term care workers."

Thoughts
And why is making childcare affordable an issue for you? Do you realize that most families need 2 incomes to live? Do you realize the weekly cost of childcare ? What is wrong with anything proposed here other than a democrat is proposing it?? I'd much rather see efforts in making childcare affordable for those who need it than keeping trans youth off the 8th grade soccer team.
