Elon Musk says he's formed the 'America Party.' Mark Cuban and Anthony Scaramucci are interested. by Business Insider (July 6, 2025)
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-sa … 43315.html

** Elon Musk said on X that he's forming a new political party amid a feud with President Donald Trump.

** He said it would be called the "America Party."

** Musk has publicly criticized Trump's spending bill, which the president signed on July 4.

"Elon Musk declared on X the formation of a new political party amid his ongoing feud with President Donald Trump over the "Big Beautiful Bill."

"Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom," Musk wrote in an X post on Saturday afternoon.

    A little further along . . .

"The Tesla CEO had said Friday on his social media platform that one way the new party could work is to focus on winning just a handful of Senate seats and House districts that could serve as the "deciding vote" on "contentious laws," given the "razor-thin legislative margins" in Congress.

Just some of many questions some may have . . .

Does his idea sound like a plan that would be beneficial?

What is the possibility of him gaining support from the technophile elite?

Does he have enough in common with middle class America to gain support?

Would the DOGE experience sabotage the endeavor?

    Thoughts, criticisms, accolades, and/or commentary?

I don’t have a lot of confidence in Elon Musk. What he fails to realize is that his money cannot buy everything. His frustration with the current system regarding both parties is based on his own selfish views and desires from his recent misfortunes. The technophile elite is not the man on the street, he is going to have to attract much more. I don’t think that he can do it.

The idea of a third party is probably overdue, but why would I believe the motives of the world’s richest man? That is instinctively distrust for me.

He has to climb over the general failure of a third party throughout American history. Does he really think that he can beat the odds?

I have little doubt that the US badly needs a third political party, and would very like benefit from 3 or 4 additional parties.

Whether Musk can swing it is another question.  A great many Americans do look up to him; he is the quintessential success story in America, but that doesn't mean that they would support a party that is interested in taking away their "bread and circuses".

This is going to resonate with an awful lot of conservatives.... My Hope Is that Elon roars full steam ahead with the full weight of his bank account and cannibalizes the Republican party... They deserve it

Do you want to know something that really is not so bad of an idea, it is a lot of what happened withRoss Perot back in 1992. Because of this Republicans will do everything they can to stop Musk.

      Go muskrats!!!

ABSOLUTELY.  I think we will quickly see a 180 from the folks on this forum who previously supported him wholeheartedly.

A little bit about this and that . . .

What to know about Elon Musk’s ‘America Party’ presented by The Hill (written by Elizabeth Crisp - 07/07/25 3:04 PM ET)
    https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5 … ica-party/

    What the article covers:

    ** What Musk wants
** What does the American Party stand for?
"Musk hasn’t provided a formal outline of his policy platform for the new party, but he has offered clues in social media posts since announcing its launch.

He notably reposted a gold-certified X account for Tesla owners in Silicon Valley that outlined a possible platform. That post listed reducing federal debt; using artificial intelligence to modernize the military; advancing “pro tech” policies; decreasing regulations on energy; promoting “free speech” and “pro natalist” objectives; and applying “centrist policies everywhere else.”

“The America Party is needed to fight the Republican/Democrat Uniparty,” Musk wrote over several social media posts and reposts backing his idea. “The America Party is the solution.”

“When & where should we hold the inaugural American Party congress?” he asked his online followers on Sunday.

In one post discussing how Musk could be successful while others have failed to generate third-party enthusiasm, the Tesla founder wrote: “Not hard tbh,” using the acronym for “to be honest.”

    ** What Trump says
    ** Third-party history
