Medicaid cut for telling the truth.

I've got this to say about the Medicaid system in Texas:

My daughter and her son were on Texas Medicaid. One is required to report any accumulated cash each month. I gave my daughter $150.00 cash to pay for gas in the month of November. She told the truth and reported this when the scheduled reporting letter came. She was notified later and told she and my grandson were no longer covered under Medicaid cause they were over the income allowance. She gets $104.00 per month in child support and goes to college full-time on grants. She lives with her father in his home and, fortunately, pays no rent. That's her only income. She is 28.

The point is, they punished her for telling the truth. She has since regained the benefit for my grandson, thank God, but has been unable to get the benefit for herself. She is on medication that is crucial for her to function. Thank God some of her meds are being covered for 10 months through a special drug program.

If I give her money in the form of a gift card, it's not considered income. It's considered a gift. So if I help her with gas now, it comes in a gift card or I LIE about it (and I won't lie). Go figure. I'm gonna help my daughter any way I can while she gets through school.

So this is government health care.

It is much the same here in Pa. I even wrote a hub about it. The system is totaly screwed up. The most I can offer in the way of advice is that a lot of pharmacutical companies have programs in place to help with the cost of people using their medications. she could try contacting them.

She's already set up on the pharmecutical plan for her psych meds, well....one of them, the Topamax. The others are not as expensive so I can help with them...and no, I will not report it.

I was homeless and ended up in the hospital for three months  with bacterial endocarditis which is a life threatening heart infection. I was denied.  neutral

well at least here they will pay for life threatening emergencies. The welfare\Medicaid system is a mess and the Obumble Administration wants to shove an even worse system down our throats "Gotta Love Our Politicians"

Social programs are set up not to help those who want to help themselves but to give to those who don't want to do anything but collect a check and sit on their butts.

This is why there is so much corruption and fraud.  Because people have caught on and if you want help then you play the game.

Seriously they tax unemployment.  What is that about?

And this is what the Democratic Party leaders want for America?  Fortunately there are Democrats within the party that realize what a scam and disservice socialized medicine is and how it will destroy the country.
