Rapists, pedophiles, murderers. Each one has a parent. So hypothetically: What if it was your child?
How would you react? Would you still maintain contact with them in any way?
I don't know what I would do. I think I would go into shock at first. Maybe need to be highly medicated. I'm not sure I could see them, but at the same time there would be all those memories of a child you loved.
Because he is my son, I would TRY to show him compassion and understanding, even if I don't understand, However, he should face the consequences of his actions. To avoid that or even hinder that, will cause a much greater amount of pain. For them and for you.
If your kid turned out that way, it's your fault. We are products of our parenting. So if someones child turned out to be a crim, most parents, i would be surprised if they were surprised.
