It's a shallow-water well. The ban on deep-water drilling is still in effect.
I think the timing of this approval is pretty bad. And on top of it I cannot believe I agree with a San Francisco newspaper.
This shouldn't be a political issue, in my view. It's everyone's "fault" for participating in society the way we do. We all have the ability to change things - we always have - we've just chosen to be complacent and greedy and interested in what's easy, just like the oil companies have, just like the government has, just like the world has.
When we all put our feet down and say no, and actively change things, that's when it'll get better. Until then, it's on all our heads.

As an Independent, I have voted for Republicans and Democrats. I feel we need a true two party system to help rebuild this great country. But instead, I see a divided Republican Party! We have the "true Conservative Republicans (which I have voted for in the past), being replaced by this...

Thought some of you right wingers might be interested in seeing what some ACTUAL socialists think of the health care bill. Not that I expect any of you to admit that Obama isn't socialist by any definition of the word and is, in fact, center-right, but hey, anything is worth a shot, right? In fact,...
