Is it strange that the idea of government mandated health care coverage was a Republican idea, and now they are calling it unconstitutional and using it as a legislative hammer to attack the reforming of our health care system?

It's not surprising.
The left hand never knows what the right hand is doing and vice versa.
Partisan politics is why the mandate was a good idea for the GOP when they were taking a crack at universal health care. Partisan politics is why the idea is now the spawn of the devil.
Partisan politics is why the revolution in Egypt, which would have been celebrated as a conservative triumph three years ago is now the islmofascist plot of a caliphate - or some such rubbish.
Partisan politics is why John Boehner turned down an invitation to the memorial service for the victims of the Arizona shooting and it's why Boehner turned down an invite when there was a State dinner when China was in town.
Partisan politics is why a program to raise awareness about childhood obesity is awful if Michelle Obama supports it.

Even effective and well thought out legislation is caught up in the pettiness that is national politics. Anyone else annoyed? (Full disclosure: I voted for Obama, Kerry, Gore...

Should tolerance be an individual decision or mandated by the State?I take great pride in my intolerance of others, in my individuality and my freedom to think independent of government. My requirement for tolerance is to respect my beliefs, before you demand respect for yours. Respect me...
