Politics can be defined as "the art of compromise."

The Constitution was created as an effort to bring opposing politics to a situation of "comprimise" in decisions that would benefit a growing nation.

Today, politicians are as adamantly opposed to one another as are alledged monotheists and atheists. Neither will ever compromise in ref to their beliefs!

Politicians are dedicated to being re-elected and not to the good of their constituents.

Today, politics is operating contrary to Constitutional intent.

Monotheists, atheists, democrats, republicans are all "kin" in ref to diversity. They are as diversely opposite as are night and day!

The only thing that will bring this nation together, to function in concert, is for our freedoms to be OVERTLY and PERSONALLY jeopardized and for us all to realize that, then react in concert, as we did during WW2, to re-define and re-dedicate our lives and values. Then totally re-organize the natural powers of this nation!

Currently, the America I love is on a path to destruction!

Actually, the Constitution was meant to be an uncompromising guide for American society, not a template for compromise.  And it should not be compromised either.
Democrats and Republicans weren't meant to have such a wide gap between their ideals.   And choosing leaders wasn't meant to allow us to choose between two OPPOSING viewpoints, it was meant to give us a choice between the BETTER of two or more candidates who have similar views at the basis, or who would at the very least allow their actions to be shaped by the simplicity of the Constitution AND the moral basis this Nation had.   This last Election broke that mold when America tolerated a man to be Nominated who openly stated his intention to go directly AGAINST the Constitution's admonishments and intent.

      Republicans should not compromise.
The America I love is also on a path to destruction.
T'would be better to be destroyed by the obvious outside enemy where we at least have a fighting chance, than to be destroyed from the inside out.

" jeopardized and for us all to realize that, then react in concert, as we did during WW2, to re-define and re-dedicate our lives and values." Wasn't that socialism?

      Knoly:
      Diversity is necessary to survive!
I can adapt to most necessary changes in my life if my survival is threatened.
      Communism works in China.
      Socialism has its benefits!
If a nation isn't diverse in it's thinking and values, it will die!
If you wish to call coming together in concert to accomplish a goal that will benefit all men: SOCIALISM...SO BE IT!
when change becomes a necessity for survival, ya'd better be ready and adaptable or you will be one of those who die by the roadside of progress!

I am saying that the world war II effort was funded and coordinated by the government, which means it was socialist undertaking.

      knoly:
There has never been in the history of man such a concerted effort by all, in one nation, to "come together" in a concerted effort to remain free.
If you want to think of a culture/society coming together in a grand "social" effort to guarantee a goal, yes, it was socialism.
Our gov't controlled every facet of our lives and it worked.
If it hadn't, much of the human population would be speaking German and Japanese. smile
