I am a glass half full kinda guy ya know? But if you can't see that big black cloud around that little bitty silver spot, you need glasses. Saw a post said Republicans aren't upholding the Constitution. How much have you held it up lately. We dont even know what we are anymore. I pledge ..... and to THE REPUBLIC, not a democracy. Good grief. A crowd a rope and one guy to hang, not that's a democracy. The Sheriff is supposed to see to it we are a Republic. Law should rule in the absence of rite minded men, hence the Constitution. How many of you have read it? Send me your address, I'll drop you a copy in the mail.

Gosh, I gotta quit that. Yall are going to hate me before you even have a reason to. You know, after you get to know me!!! lol
But, on a lighter note, I really am a nice guy. Really.

  The Marxist Progressive agenda was to segragate the US Govt. and Military once again under Woodrow Wilson, and set the country back another 50 years. And in its actions re-assert the legitamacy of racism once again into the Social structure of America.
  
  And when that didn't work as good as they wanted it to, they along with Sanger and your Leftist Progressive ilk, went even further and attempted to commit genocide against the blacks and "inferior peoples", so as to save their master race. Which is still in effect to this day, see the "Negro Project", and go teach about that in school.

  Hey Mason - There are no Klansmen voting for Democrats. They vote Republican. Woodrow being a progressive doesn't link him to communism. They are two different things.
  Racism was ingrained in society back then, and I can give you hundreds of examples of conservatives being racists. When the civil rights movement came about, it was southern Democrats who disagreed who left the party and built your party of today. It was conservative Strom Thurman holding a filibuster against it. It was conservatives spitting on black children as they walked into the schools. Heck, it might have been you.

  Mason - it was 3/5, not 1/3. I'll give you that. However, you haven't heard of the 3/5th Compromise? They teach it in 2nd grade.
  
  The clause in Article 1, Section 2, which counted black slaves as three-fifths of a person.

  One... it is a representation of whole population of slaves, not the individual person, also it was set in place to under-cut the ability of the southern slave holding states from seating massive majorities, with which they would have kept slavery in force and extended it throughout the new territories.

  You Leftists have forever hated that clause, and mis-interpreted it so as to cast a dark light on a great document of liberty. Without that clause your side, the Democrats southern dixie-crats and their KKK brethren, would have held massive amounts of power in our Govt. and never let go of the blacks and your lust for slavery.

  Leftists, by definition, are progressive in thought...fight the status quo, and party labels mean very little throughout history. The Democrats of the Civil War are not the Democrats of today. Just like the Republicans of the Civil War are nothing resembling the Republicans of today. It boils down to conservative (upholding the status quo) and liberal (fighting against it). John Brown was a liberal. Lee was a conservative. Grant was also a conservative. There weren't too many liberals represented back then obviously. The Klan was created to keep the status quo, to fight the change, making it in itself a conservative organization. Couple that with the fact that not a single Klansman or Neo Nazi votes Democrat, and you have it clearly laid out....conservatives aren't white racists, but white racists are conservative.You, sir, are a conservative.

  Four grand in cash would weigh about 0.9 pounds (400 grams).
  
  Four grand in Gold would weigh about 70 grams.
  
  so... Actually, gold would be easier to carry than cash.
  
  But a 100% reserve rate of Bank Notes would be a Gold standard that allowed for paper money.
  
  The reason why the green sheets of paper in your wallet are unconstitutional is that they are not in any way connected to gold or silver.
  
  They used to be. In fact, it used to be that the dollar was defined in gold. For example: a dollar was defined as $35 back in the FDR ages, and it was around $23 dollars before FDR.
  
  The dollar came AFTER gold. A dollar was defined as a RATIO of a piece of gold. It was the RECEIPT FOR gold. One dollar was a receipt for 1/23rd of an ounce of gold.

  I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but the paper money of our country was as good as gold.
  
  The dollar came after gold and silver: a dollar was defined as 1/23rd of an ounce of gold. That was what a dollar was. It pretty much stayed that until FDR unilaterally changed it randomly -- completely randomly -- during the Great Depression. The average price he made it was 1/35th of an ounce of gold. The citizenry wasn't allowed to OWN gold, but foreigners holding dollars could still redeem their dollars for gold (just not the citizens of the US).
  
  Nixon finally tied all connections to the gold standard in 1971. We then went into a spiraling set of stagflation followed by booms and busts.

  It explains "bits" and "pieces of eight" -- coins used to be broken into 8ths, called "bits" (yes, that's where the word bit comes from, coins). It also explains WHAT money is, why our money is called a dollar (Spanish silver coins), the hyperinflation of the Revolutionary War.
  
  IT also explains how our paper money WAS receipts for gold around the 8:00 area.
  
  *Edit* - i got some things wrong: the US originally defined a dollar as ~1/20th an ounce of gold. Thus, one dollar SHOULD Be worth about today's $80. And one cent should be worth about $0.80

  Here's a better way to think about how the Free-market handled a gold standard:
  
  You had gold and silver. You didn't feel safe carrying, so you paid a bank some interest over time to store it. But, you wanted to make sure you would be able to get the metal when you needed it, so they gave you a RECEIPT. It would say something like "This note is redeemable for 1/20th an ounce of Gold at Jimbo's Bank".
  
  Then, instead of always going back and forth between the bank and the market, people began just trading the paper. BUT -- at ALL times they were able to take their paper and exchange it for the metal.
  
  The dollar worked this way, off and on (because of the central banks in place, and the high cost of warfare), until 1933 when FDR made it illegal to own gold. Then Nixon made it illegal for anyone to trade dollars for gold.
  
  We didn't win the power to own gold again until 1999.

  1) The States are not allowed to accept anything but gold and silver - thus a receipt for gold and silver would qualify if they simply redeemed the receipts ahead of time.
  
  2) If the ability to print the paper receipts was left entirely to the private sector - and the money was backed 100% by gold or silver - then the paper wouldn't be printed by government on either the state or the federal level.
  
  So, by having the receipts backed by gold and printed by private banks completely abides by the Constitution.

  Now forgive me, I didn't read every word of all this stimulating conversation, but I did scan it. You know, I never considered myself racist. Wife and I hd a little three year old black foster girl for about a year. I was ashamed of myself. Not mean or ugly, but because inside, I thought of her as a "black" girl, and not just a girl. Finally got over that. But it wasn't a law that solved my problem. It was a respect for humanity that had to soak into me until I could love that little girl just like any other. Call the constitution black or white, but, if we would have stuck to just one part, "coin money", we wouldn't owe, what, $65,000 each on the national debt? Oh and that is per breathing individual. Got 1 kid? Another 65K. And don't rake me over the coals on my number. It was calculated by using the S.W.A.G. method. Tell you what though, anybody that's strongly in favor of all this new buy now pay later bull. I hope you wouldn't mind takin on little of my debt that your philosophy has run up!! Now, I'm going into my dugout, so don't shoot at me. Oh, and if Obama calls to talk to me about being Chairman of the Federal Reserve, take a number and I'll get back with him.
