Oprah's Leadership Academy
Oprah Winfrey - Humanitarian and role model for celebrities!
This lens is my tribute to Oprah. After seeing the ABC special on her new school for girls in South Africa, I am blown away by her generosity and personal connection to the project and the people. She is the epitomy of what the Horatio Algier story is about and living proof that it can happen in America.
She should be the role model for all celebrities in Hollywood and New York as to what a real philantropist is and can do to effect positive changes that will have long lasting benefits.
God bless you Oprah!!!
And Thanks You for what you do.
In her own words...

"Say what you will about the American educational system . . . it does work. If you are a child in the United States, you can get an education," Winfrey said during an interview.
But she doesn't think black students in America appreciate their situation.
"I became so frustrated with visiting inner-city schools that I just stopped going," said Winfrey, who once lived in Milwaukee.
"The sense that you need to learn just isn't there. If you ask the kids what they want or need, they will say an iPod or some sneakers. In South Africa, they don't ask for money or toys. They ask for uniforms so they can go to school."
