USA Made Green Products

Updated on March 2, 2015

Red White Blue and Green

Two of my most important goals include supporting our economy by buying USA made products when there is one available, and protecting our environment buy buying products that are Eco-friendy. When I can accomplish both of these goals simultaneously, I like it even better. This lens focuses on products that meet both of these requirements. I hope you will join me in supporting these companies. Without our continued support it will become even harder to find products that fit this market.

@jcamdenbow: I love how soft the bamboo cloth feels. I have sheets, wash cloths and clothes made from it. It makes great baby clothes as well. Something soft enough for their delicate skin.

I have always wanted to get bamboo sheets. I finally decided to go ahead and get them. I just love them. I can't explain why they are so different, besides the green factor, but I will never go back to the other kind.

Yes, many. For example, search the web for organic soaps. Most of these are made by small business owners.

You've covered the ones I know about it off the top of my head and included some I did not know about. Thank you for compiling this list. I'm always looking for Made in America and made environmentally and socially responsibly. You are providing an excellent service.

I especially like the brightly colored notebooks on 100 percent PCW paper and the toys.

Loved learning about these green, USA made products. Great lens!!

We stopped dinking around with foreign made coffee makers and cooking pans and went back to using our good old reliable stainless steel US made stove top coffee pot and antique cast iron pans.

How about Bio-based Remanufactured Printer Cartridges. Made in America. Every pound of soy toner manufactured, saves 2 liters of petroleum. Price is comparable to OEM petroleum based toner cartridges. Print quality is comparable to OEM. Print yield is comparable to OEM. Soy oil is used in the toner formula â a fully renewable, non-petroleum resource. At least 90% of all soybeans are fed to livestock AFTER extracting the oil. Soybeans are not a staple crop â there is no threat to the human food supply. Recycled virgin OEM cores are used â reduced landfill waste. Use SoyPrint's UPS return labels to send empty cartridges back to be recycled into various new plastic products. SoyPrint⢠cartridges are fully warranted. While soy ink has been available for some time, this is the first time a Soy-based option has been available in laser cartridges.

One of my favorite green and local toy shops is Willow Toys. These are all hand made wooden toys with safe finishes, made in New Hampshire and shipped free. The designs of the play kitches, doll houses, play stands and other items is carefree and thoughtful. I try to live/shop/eat local as much as possible - it's a challenge to buy green and made in USA these days, but in Vermont it's almost a mantra to support local and grow your own.
