A Letter Of Self Love
Love Is...
The most essential love relationship we can have is first with God, who is LOVE. When we develop an intimate relationship with God, we can learn what love truly is and then learn to love ourselves and others. We often seek outside ourselves to find love, but love begins within. We must learn to be the love we desire to experience.
“4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
Janine Ingram, author of "Born To Be Rich" and facilitator of "The Love Journey" conference call prayer line, often talks about the importance of loving yourself and encourages the writing and mailing of love letters to yourself. In reading her book, I took on the exercise and was blessed by the experience. The following letter is the result:
Self-Love Letter
Beloved Jo Anne (Me),
I am that I am an amazing woman of God with an ocean size capacity to love. I pour that love out on me first that it may overflow onto all others that God brings into my life. I am a beacon of light and love teaching faith and encouraging souls in every season of life. Everyone and everything I touch prospers and becomes like gold. God, my Father, desires to give me the kingdom and all I desire is mine already possessed. I am a beautiful black Queen inspiring the world at large with products, information and services.
Jesus, my Lord and Savior, gives me the power to do all things! I walk in faith, conquering fear. I receive ever increasing financial abundance, love, joy, health, peace, prosperity, and wealth in gratitude. I forgive and am forgiven. I reap a harvest of GOOD everyday in every way. I am blessed to be a blessing, to be above, to be the head, to be a wife, minister, teacher, encourager, healer, faith walker, lover, coach, author, and speaker all to the glory of God. It is so and so it is!
God is the Source of my unlimited supply and for this I am truly grateful. I believe, I receive, and share as the Spirit leads. Thank God, thank God, thank God. Hallelujah! Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Love you much,
How Do I Love Thee...
In writing the letter, I turned within and saw myself through the eyes of God and allowed Spirit to write the words. When I received the letter in the mail, I smiled and was excited about reading it. As I read the letter, I didn’t remember writing the words that were causing my heart and soul to smile. It was an affirming experience of spiritual intimacy.
This is my letter of love to me through Spirit. What would your love letter from you say?
Be blessed,
Jo Anne Meekins
