Bringing Back Sweet Old Times - A Valentine's Day to Remember

Updated on February 7, 2013

Imagine Valentine's Day with your sweetheart at the place, time, setting and food that you desire. In other words, the possibility of a more romantic and intimate day with him is all in your hands.

When you first fall in love many years ago, you may have talked for hours without realizing it. Today, fixing a quick cup of coffee to please each other already seems like a challenge. But while fitting in time to stay connected can seem pretty difficult with today's usual busy-ness, spending Valentine's Day more intimately together can make all the difference to how a couple feels.

Bring Back Those Good Old Days

Janie Frickie's "I Love You All the Way" has it all.

Looking back from where you've been, will bring you back those simple things. How much you have treasured love as something that all you have, through good times and through bad.

These are the lovely things of times gone by that are the most romantic. How lovely to celebrate, that while you wouldn't say you still have 'butterflies,' you are still struck by an "oh my gosh I love you' feeling." What is a day of going back and look at pictures of you when you first started going out and even those before you were dating. It is the little things in life that matter, and if you kept a diary back then, the good memories are nice to perk up those old feelings.

Here is Janie's song:

Do Things Side by Side

Ask men what intimacy means to them and you'd be surprised to get this reply the most - "Doing things together." If you know what that means, then men, in general, regard intimacy as working or playing side-by-side.

Cook his favorite food, a dish you first shared together, or the breakfast recipe you enjoyed on your honeymoon. Your husband will be overjoyed that you took the effort of bringing back the flavors of sweet yesteryears. Working on something around the house side by side can also up something ordinary to something worth remembering. It can bring you to discover how the fun and mistakes of doing things in twosome put quality time that stirs up romance.

There’s almost nothing more rewarding for Valentine's day than being close and intimate to your spouse. It only takes a clever woman to spice things up and see where the night leads you. By fulfilling his desire of you doing things with him side-by-side, the nurturing sweetness cultivates togetherness that helps him reach his goals. Last but not the least, you enjoy each other on Valentine's day.

Spice Things Up

It may not be possible to spend the whole day together; there is one thing you both can work out - think of each other every minute, every hour... It's Valentine's Day!

What a wonderful way to express your love sharing a romantic Valentines Day morning with the one you love. Waking him up with the smell of his favorite coffee nudging on his nose, along with your sweet smelling voice of endearments. This gesture is sure to bring a smile.

Spark up the flames of passion. Call him in his office to ask what time is he coming home. Send him sexy texts and comments. Say how you feel about all these things. It is the attention to the simple little details that you'll find will be appreciated the most. I take pride in GoodLady's advice that it's the fairy tales that leads us to believe passion, romance and getting intimate, should only be for the very young. So, go ahead, be creative for your man.

I like what Mhatter99 (the king of limerick) shared, once he had the opportunity to re-enact their first kiss. What a perfect suggestion!

Hi Martin. I'm sure you have loved that re-enactment :=)... and to your wife could be a gentle journey back to one of your sweetest moments. Ask her and she'll tell you how she'd wished you'd kiss her again and again exactly the way you did, your first time :=) - some of a woman's secret dreams? So glad you made it by. Thank you.

      HAPPY VALENTINE to you both!

Hello Ruby. Thank you. Perhaps it's the kind of spice men wants to make things a lot flavorful and colorful. Just like a dish, without zest could make it look and taste boring. Thanks so much for dropping by.

-Loads and loads of Valentine wishes for you. May you have a night to remember. Cheers!

Great advice. Men love to be told that they are appreciated and so do women. I liked that phrase, ' spice it up ' Thank's for sharing...

Aloha CarNoobz! You live in one of the world's paradise! Did I guess that? LOL. Many of us may not have all the money for dating out, so we can make the most of the good old traditions - the very homely date that offers the most comfortable joy and feelings no amount of money can buy.

A romantic dinner at home Allows everything your mind can explore. In a resto, you'll have to put a halt to get home, LOL.... see, just thoughts of it makes the heart ponder and smile. Not a cook?... so what? It could be spice to bursts out all the love flavors. You never know; your "a little of this and a little of that" recipe can discover you a dish that's worth looking back.

If your dish happens to taste like sea, roast that's either raw and burnt, cake that did not rise or you forgot to add sugar to your dessert?!!.. now that is all fun that's worth a night to remember. You'll love the memories:=)... don't you think?

Thank you for your lovely comment. Here's a basketful of love and best wishes for you and your beloved. Go for that romantic date, whatever! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

This hub makes me happy and sad. Our marriage could use a little spice to break through the boredom.

I made dinner reservations for Vday, but now it's looking like I won't have the money to actually take her out that night. SO...maybe I can try the romantic dinner at home.

That should be hilarious LOL I am SO NOT the cook
