Loving A Police Officer

Updated on April 10, 2012

My Thoughts

Being in love with a Police officer has its ups and downs not knowing when they walk out if they are coming home. There are times when you do not receive a single phone call and become distraught, waiting in anticipation for the information to come across the scanner letting you know that they are safe and out of harms way. Many do not realize what a stressful career a police officer has, they are constantly placed in the way to protect and serve our cities and the people that reside there.

Becoming an officer takes endurance, stamina and intelligence the test is quite tedious and the physical agiility test is strenuous. They go through weeks of skilled training before they go out into the field. Officers specialize in different areas such as Drug Enforcement, Criminal Investigation, Dive Team and Task Force amongst others. Being an officer is not for everyone there are so many different types of people with different types of characteristics to deal with on a daily basis. They are taunted as well by malicious people stereotyping who they are. Officers do not just sit around  drinking coffee and eating doughnuts they protect and serve, Many do not believe that they are entitled to a break however just like any job they try to slip a break in when they can. If you are married to a police officer you can understand and if you are not married to a police officer Take a moment out of your time and visualize a crime happening in your area right now, at this very moment and ask yourself could you place yourself in harms way when a crime is being committed and being willing to place your life on the line? Could you make the decision to kill someone , when you have to save a dozen other people and be able to sleep at night? Being an officer is much more complicated then them driving around in a police car and handing out tickets. They are there to keep you safe from someone taking your life. The next time you see an officer you should thank them for protecting you. I would personally like to thank all of the men and women who do this everyday and nobody understands what they go through until you are in love with an officer and hope that they will come home safely into your loving arms.

Do You Agree Law Enforcement Officers Lives Are Always On The Line
