How prayers help your marriage work?

Updated on February 13, 2014

‘To keep your marriage brimming, with love in the wedding cup, whenever you're wrong, admit it; whenever you're right, shut up.’ Ogden Nash

Some few years back, I experienced much turmoil in my life. We were in heavy debts and there was no one to help us. It is indeed terrifying to live in this mercenary world without money. Lack of money teaches you many valuable lessons and the most precious lesson we learned is that financial misery has no friends to help you. The world closed its door on us and we were left to face our miseries on our own.

Do you know what helped me through those dark days of tears and crying? It was my prayers! My hands would be folded in prayers and I would beg God to give us courage to face our ordeal bravely. God made our love for each other intense and we were a close knit family in spite of our financial drubbing.

This is the magic of prayers. Prayers do not make your problems go away, but gives you light to see the path through which it can be solved. When you trust your intuition and follow the path God shows you, you emerge out of your problems as a courageously new person.

Prayers can help your marriage also!

In modern marriages you experience stress and tension in your day to day life which makes you be at logger heads with your spouse for minor issues also. Your married life is very short lived and there are times when your emotions are battered and shattered by the issues you have with your spouse. With tension building up to its peak you feel lonely in an unloving marriage.

You do not know who to turn to for some emotional comfort. You feel your spouse does not understand you and feel alarmed at the rift that has developed between you. You want your marriage to work at any cost and you bow your knees before God in fervent prayers.

What do prayers do to your married life?

Let us suppose you are sick. What do you do when self medication does not help you? You turn to a physician to cure you, don’t you? If you let your illness go untreated it may develop into a life threatening issue.

Likewise if you ignore the problems you have with your spouse your marriage is a sure failure.

  • Do you really want your marriage to work?
  • Do you feel that no one can help your marriage to survive?
  • Are you alarmed that you might lose your spouse?

Do not forget that there is God waiting to pull you out of your pathetic situation.

How can God help you regain your lost love?

Does God come in person to help you?

No he does not!

  • When you have issues with your spouse, he gives you hope that your marriage can survive in spite of your differences.
  • When you have money problems he opens many doors of opportunities which make you handle your financial downfall.
  • He will not give you a problem free married life as such a life does not exist but he blesses you with great understanding power to face the varied problems that crop up now and then in your marriage.

Are you happily married?

Do you think you do not need to pray as you have excellent relationship with your spouse?

Do you think you have to pray only to ask help from god?

My mother always tells me, that you should thank god for all the countless blessings he showers on us and which we coolly ignore.

When you get up in the morning your day should start by thanking god for his grace and blessings. Your prayers empower you with such grit and determination to stride over all your problems with ease. When you pray he becomes your friend who is always there to give you encouragement and to instill enthusiasm in you.

You should teach your children to pray at their young age itself. It molds them into good and well behaved children. Good and well behaved children are incredible blessings from God. When you have problems, he becomes your hope, when you are happy he becomes your laughter, when you are hard working he becomes your victory and eventually He makes your marriage a loving relationship you prayed for.
