Basic Leo Personality Traits

Before you date a Leo, you must understand a Leo. The king of the jungle is also the most dominant and extroverted of all the zodiac signs. Leo is strong and stubborn, especially when it comes to matters of the heart, religion, or philosophy. Leo is also humane and benevolent. That is, until you disrupt their kingdom. You certainly don’t want to cross a Leo, for he or she will strike back hard. However, Leos forgive easily and rarely hold grudges.

The Lion is a born leader, and enjoys basking in the sun while watching over his or her territory, ideas, possessions, and loved ones. The spotlight is where Leo is comfortable. Compliments and flattery are extremely important, and they thrive on praise. Creativity is abundant among Leos, as well. They can express themselves in beautiful, abstract ways making their own beautiful solar flares in most of life’s aspects. A life of luxury is what the king of the jungle deserves, and the human Leo agrees.

Ladies, if a “Macho Man” is your type, then by all means, seek out a Leo! He is full of charisma, confidence, and pride, and has incredible animal magnetism attracting women of all kinds. After all, he is the king and will defend his kingdom. Mr. Leo is also warm hearted and kind. He falls in love easily, and likes his women to be feminine. Dating a Leo Woman?

If you find yourself attracted to the Lioness, be prepared to work for her. She must be adored and cherished in order for you to hold on to her. If you are wise, you will not look at other women when you are with her. It’s not that she’s jealous, but that she will not waste her time competing. She is the Lioness and rules her own queendom. She will be the only one, or you will lose her.

Miss Leo, unlike the Lion, does not fall in love easily, but she will be well worth the work when she does. Once in love, she is among the most romantic lovers of the zodiac. She is generous and loyal to her mate. Like the lioness in the wild, she will defend her loved ones until death. As long as she is appreciated and able to remain independent, Miss Leo will make an incredible wife; if you can catch her in the first place.

Famous Leos:

All Leos are not the same:

Your moon sign and your rising sign (ascendant) are just as important as your sun sign. Therefore, there are many factors that can change or skew a typical Leo personality. A map of the sky at the exact moment you were born is called a natal chart. Your emotions and feelings may not match up to your sun sign description if the moon was in a different constellation at the time of your birth. Your personality can appear to show a different zodiac sign because your rising sign may be different than your sun sign.

Not only the sun, moon and rising signs affect your personality and emotions. There are also planets that are constantly moving, and a snapshot of the sky at any given time is called a Transit Chart. There are 12 constellations (groups of stars), or zodiac signs named after ancient mythology. The planets move through each constellation.

Similar to the constellations, there are also 12 houses in each natal chart that the planets move through. The houses represent 12 sections of the sky divided into 30 degree parts. Also, the relationships of the planets, or aspects, are changing constantly due to the never ending movement of the planets in the transit chart, compared to your natal chart.

Each house represents of a specific section of your life. For example, the first house represents your outward personality and your ego. Each zodiac sign is ruled by a specific planet (or two in some cases). For example, Aries is ruled by the planet Mars. Also, each planet represents of a specific section of your life. For example, Venus represents beauty, femininity, love, and prosperity. Each zodiac sign is determined to be fixed, mutable or cardinal. Each zodiac sign is also assigned to an element deeming the person a water, earth, fire, or air sign. The links on the right should be helpful if you’d like to learn more.

There are personality differences depending on the age of the Leo, just as there are in any zodiac sign. If you really want to understand someone, you need to find out the exact date, time and place the person was born. There are many websites online that offer free natal charts. Someone who is qualified to read them for you will most likely charge you a fee.
