Love, where did it go

Updated on August 6, 2013

Feelings of love lost

Love, where did it go

I pray some day I will know

I miss the tenderness, the touching

the love you used to show

Did it suddenly turn cold

when I forgot to hold you close

or when I forgot to say, I love you the most

When did you stop noticing

the fragrance that I wear

or when I spend the afternoon

changing the style of my hair

Where did love go

seems you care not if I am near

It never seems to matter if I leave

Or if I am here

There was a time, when you whispered in my ear

soon we will be alone,I can't wait to hold you near

To feel your warmth beside me

in the middle of the night

waiting for the moment when you

reach to dim the light

You once whispered softly in the darkness of the night

"come to me darling, let me love you in the moonlight"

we would watch the stars silently appear

I recall the splendor as you held me oh so near

Now you sit in silence waiting for me to retire

you will sit there in your lonly chair

I know we will not find love's fire

I miss you my love, where did you go?

When I was reading this I heard a song in my head 'Willy Nelson's - 'You were always on my mind' - very touching words. Very sad that so many relationships end up this way.

We see this so often as we go through life. People being neglected by their loved ones when just a touch, a glance, could make life together so much better. I am seeing more and more with the advent of all our electronic gadgets. Each person is so busy clicking on their cell phones, ipads, etc and oblivious to those who are right beside them.
