If you have already done that, and you know that your special sweet-heart is an Affirmation Gal: Congratulations! Now, let's get started on figuring out the best ways to show her you care.
Showing your love with affirmation:
Who doesn't love a good compliment, right? In this case - it is what your special sweety really loves! Making sure you arm yourself with fresh new ways to say "I love you" is key to keeping this type of lady smiling.
Compliments are not restricted to how she looks. Tell her EVERYTHING that is wonderful about her, not just how great her eyes are. Here are some subjects/ideas of things you could say - or at least draw some ideas from:
- You are great with the kids
- You are so patient with your parents
- You are such a terrific (whatever her hobby is)... painter, writer, tennis player...
- You have such a big (caring, wonderful...) heart
- I love what a polite driver you are
- It blows me away that you have such a green thumb. You're so good with plants
- I love the way you love me
- You have such an angelic singing voice
- I'm really impressed at how well you take charge at your job
The key to remember here, gentlemen, is that men and women accept compliments differently. Men like being told that what they did was good. Women like being told THEY are good. Let me give you a comparison:
A man prefers: "Wow, that painting is amazing. Just look at all the attention to detail!"
A woman prefers: "Wow, you're a great artist. Just look at all the attention you put into the detail."
Take this knowledge and run with it!
Date Ideas:
You have a woman that loves being told nice things. Let's use that to your advantage, shall we?
Cook a nice, romantic dinner at home together. While eating be sure to make lots of "wow this food is good" noises when chewing the parts she cooked. Mention what a great job she did on the green beans - those are the best green beans you have ever tasted.
Let her pick the restaurant. When the food arrives, let her know what a fantastic choice she made for where to eat. Compliment how beautiful she looks.
Take her to a movie (or watch one at home) - who ever the leading lady is, let your lady know that she looks better than her! Lean in for a little snuggle or kiss and mention how great she smells.
Use your words. Brainstorm if you have to! She doesn't need to be bombarded with compliments all day long, but try to come up with at least 3 a day.
